Residential Carpet Cleaning
|
Why choose us for residential carpet cleaning?
|
Our Cleaning Process is Unlike Most Others
We use a method called hot water, rotary jet extraction. Unlike the "traditional wand
cleaning", this method combines traditional hot water extraction (aka "steam
cleaning") with a special tool that sprays pressurized hot water and vacuums the hot
water and soil through a pair of spinning heads that agitate the carpet fibers to
thoroughly clean every part of each fiber in your carpet. At Steaming Mad, rotary jet
extraction is included at no extra charge.
This process has been proven through the industry to give the most thorough
cleaning available today. The benefits of this cleaning style are carpets that are
cleaner, carpet that stays clean longer, improved indoor air quality and health, and
carpet that lasts longer. We actually have a few clients that have carpet that is 25
years old or older!
The difference between wand cleaning & rotary jet extraction.
|

There are some situations where rotary jet extraction cannot be used. Due to the
design of the equipment, there must be a sufficient amount of cushion in the
cleaning area. Plush, cut pile, and frieze (fra-zay) style carpets are excellent
candidates for rotary jet extraction cleaning while Berbers, level loop, closed loop,
and thin commercial style carpets may have better results with wand cleaning.
When rotary jet extraction cannot be used, our wand cleaning process will be
used. This process is still different than what many other carpet cleaners use. Our
cleaning agents (soaps) are only applied as a pre-spray. Soap is never used
through our truck mounted equipment, instead we use a diluted, mild rinse aide
that will neutralize the carpet helping to remove residue from previous cleaners
and soils while helping to repel new soil from attaching to the fibers.
Many cleaners use extraction emulsifiers in their equipment. These soaps do their
jobs well at removing soil and dirt, but they are left behind in the carpet without
being rinsed. Think about it. Your carpets will be moist after cleaning because of
the hot water used. If there is soap in that hot water, then there is definitely going
to be soap left in your carpet. This can cause allergic reactions to sensitive
people and will most definitely re-soil at a rapid pace.
Another key part of our process is agitation. In rotary jet extraction, the agitation
comes from the spinning heads on the machine. When we use the wand method a
hand brush, bonnet machine, or motorized brushes can be used depending on the
amount of soil present and the application necessary for cleaning.

We use sprayers to apply our cleaning agents.
|
Our Rotovac can be used with brushes for agitation on thinner types of carpet.
|
Using our floor machine with bonnets is another source for agitation.

Our Education and Experience
There are no laws that require carpet cleaners to be certified in Michigan. Just about
anyone can go rent a machine from Lowes and call themselves a carpet cleaner to
make a quick buck. What consumers don't realize is what happens when this
backyard cleaner ruins their carpet? He doesn't have insurance or an actual
company that you can sue to recover the damages of replacing your carpet.
What if it was a company and the owner refused to compensate you for his mistake?
Are you going to spend thousands of dollars in court only to chance getting a
fraction of it back for replacement cost of the carpet? Who's out there to help you
choose a competent cleaner?
The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is here for
you. The IICRC is a group that was formed in the 1970's by carpet industry leaders
that provides education & certification of cleaners and restorers. This group sets the
Industry standards for cleaning & restoration to help protect the consumer and fight
against bad cleaning practices. The IICRC is recognized world wide by cleaners,
restorers, carpet manufacturers, insurance agents, governments, and consumers.
Always look for IICRC certified technicians or firms when searching for any cleaning or
restoration service.
At Steaming Mad, we are IICRC certified in Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery & Fabric
Cleaning, Odor Control, and Water Damage Restoration. Currently we are in the
application process to become an IICRC certified firm.
You can be assured that when you hire us to clean for you that you will have a
competent and educated technician to do the job properly.
